¡¡LO HE CONSEGUIDO!! Desde hace ya cinco cursos no hago clases ni exámenes teóricos. Ahora sé que los hacía para hacer ver a los alumnos y al resto de profesores que la Educación Física era una asignatura como las demás… No era consciente del precio tan alto que pagaba por ello… 🙁 Os cuento por qué…
Imaginad… 26 alumnos de 3ºE.S.O. al fin saliendo de entre las cuatro paredes en las que han estado metidos 3,4 o 5 horas… Entran al gimnasio… y yo, su profe de E.F., esperando para decirles…(superconvencida además!! 🙁 ):
«Chicos, hoy vamos al Aula de usos múltiples, clase teórica…»).
La respuesta de los alumnos ya la podéis imaginar… :
«Noooo, hoy nooo….!!», «¿Teórica…?, Pero si esto es gimnasia…!»
Entredientes y a lo lejos se medio escucha…
«BUFFF…. !¡Vaya mierda…!».
¿Te suenan estos comentarios…?, para mí formaban parte de una letanía a escuchar antes de cada clase teórica… 🙁
Resultado: 26 miradas de alegría, ilusión, motivación, expectación… (situación ideal que todo docente querría para comenzar una clase…), convertidas en cabezas agachadas, miradas apagadas, de tedio, de desilusión, desmotivación…
Osea que… todos los pedagogos, psicólogos, profesores, maestros del mundo estudiando, investigando para descifrar las claves para tener sólo un poco de lo que los profesores de Educación Física nos encontramos al llegar a clase y ahí voy yo y me suelto… «¡Hoy clase teórica!». (Me da vergüenza hasta escribirlo… 🙁 )
Y lo peor es que el punto de inflexión para cambiar vino de un compañero tutor en una evaluación… En el informe por asignaturas que hizo a toda la junta de evaluación dijo cuando llegó a Educación Física…:
«En Educación Física 40% de suspensos. Imagino que por suspender la parte teórica… Bueno…eso es lo que me han dicho los alumnos suspendidos… Pero que bueno…, nada… que estudien, que esta asignatura es una más… que se den cuenta…
¡¡QUÉ MAL RESONARON SUS PALABRAS EN MI MENTE!!! .
Quedé literalmente noqueada!! 🙁
Salí de la evaluación y me dije…
¡¡¡QUEDAN PROHIBIDAS LAS CLASES Y EXÁMENES TEÓRICOS en EDUCACIÓN FÍSICA!!!.
De parecerme al resto de asignaturas… ¡¡NI HABLAR!!!. Son las demás asignaturas las que tienen que hacer por parecerse a la Educación Física. Me propuse…
lo que mis alumnos aprendan haciendo es lo que aprenderán.
Con dos sesiones a la semana no me puedo permitir el lujo de que mis alumnos se sienten más de 4 minutos para escuchar las directrices del principio de la clase y los conceptos básicos que se traten en ella. El resto del tiempo… ¡¡a moverse!!! (En los países nórdicos esto es Learning by doing en mi pueblo de toda la vida dicen… «Dímelo andando»…).
Para conseguirlo HE CAMBIADO:
- EL TIEMPO PARA EXPLICAR. Ya no suelto ningún rollo de más de 4 minutos de duración. Es una técnica que también utiliza Jorge Castaño en su libro . Él además da un cronómetro a los alumnos para que le avisen si excede el tiempo de explicación… 🙂
- El MOMENTO DE PRESENTAR EL CONTENIDO «MÁS TEÓRICO». Ahora, el contenido de la explicación lo integro en el desarrollo de las actividades de clase. Provoco situaciones para que sea necesario determinar/explicar los diferentes conceptos desde la práctica.
- EL FORMATO y NOMBRE DE PRUEBAS PARA EVALUAR. Ya no pronuncio la palabra examen en mis clases. Los llamo «retos» , «tutoriales» o «certificados de diversión en…»
- EL SISTEMA PARA CALIFICAR. En mis clases cada día que pasa no se vuelve a repetir nunca más… Todos los días cuentan, los alumnos que las dos últimas semanas quieren hacer todo lo que en todo el trimestre no han hecho no tienen buenas notas… Los días perdidos sin hacer nada son puntos tirados por el camino que no se pueden recuperar…
Ya te digo…, ¡¡LO HE CONSEGUIDO!! 🙂 Los resultados son ligeramente mejores cuantitativamente hablando pero lo más importante es que he ganado en tiempo de compromiso motor, de motivación/activación en cada una de las clases.
PARA MÍ QUEDAN PROHIBIDAS LAS CLASES Y EXÁMENES TEÓRICOS EN EDUCACIÓN FÍSICA. 🙂
Quizás te pueda parecer un cambio idílico pero en próximos post voy a intentar plasmar todos esos cambios en una situación real. Explicaré cómo evalúo, presento y desarrollo una unidad didáctica.

Hola Carmen, estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo en que emplear sesiones teóricas puras y duras en nuestra materia es del paleolítico (otra cosa es que los dias en que nuestra amiga la metereología nos juega una maña pasada tengamos que recurrir a alguna sesion que otra).
Otra gran odea que comparto contigo es lo de los retos…. es un fantástico recurso que provoca un plus de motivacion en el alumnado (lo sé porque lo he podido comprobar en mis sesiones ?)
En definitiva, considero que las iniciativas que favorecen el mayor compromiso motor durante el mayor tiempo posible en nuestras escasas dos sesiones semanales son muy bienvenidas

Tienes toda la razón pongo mi ejemplo yo doy clases a la sección secundaria y cuando me toca dar teoría mis alumnos me reprochan diciendo que están enfadados de la clase anterior que ellos quisieran mejor salir a clase practica que aprenden mas jugando. El respeto de los alumnos y de los profesores de otras äreas, se obtiene haciendo clases intensas y cañeras, donde los alumnes vibran, expetimentan y sudan. Luego, despues de la ducha, tendremos que cuadrar horarios para que no llegien tarde a la siguiente clase. Se pueden dar consejos y cuñas comunicativas que tienen un gran impacto en el alumno, pero siempre después de haberse movido, ya que su atención receptiva es mejor. Saludos.
Hola Carmen soy de Perú y yo no utilizo examenes escrito todo en practico lógico siempre retroalimentando la clase.
Al inicio de mi sesión si doy de 10 a 12 minutos para sacar los saberes previos de mis estudiantes, nosotros tenemos 2 horas de 45 minutos cada hora y me parece que en la parte inicial si debemos reforzar el tema que vamos a tratar con nuestros estudiantes y de ahí todo es aprendiendo con la práctica.

Muy muy de acuerdo. Esta semana he tenido esta charla con los alumnos de prácticas y yo también estoy en esa línea, aunque sí les hago un examen de teoria, sobretodo para evaluarles las tareas como el conocimiento de los grupos musculares o los huesos, o q sean capaces de escribir un calentamiento. Aunque para esto último estoy utilizando una técnica de aprendizaje cooperativo.
Pero es cierto, menos currar en el aula y más correr en el patio.

Carmen, estoy de acuerdo contigo en que tenemos muy poco tiempo de práctica real y en que nuestra asignatura es práctica. Pero yo soy de la opinión de que quiero que de mis clases salgan con unas nociones básicas sobre ciertos aspectos. Yo sólo hago un examen teórico por curso, algo muy básico pero sin lo cual no considero que deban aprobar la asignatura. Yo les doy los apuntes ya mascaditos, es decir no pierdo una clase explicándolos, pero con esos apuntes y los 4 minutitos de cada clase en los que explico quiero que al acabar el curso sepan decirme dónde está el glúteo o qué es la condición física. Y si no les hago examen, al menos en mi caso, no consigo que acaben la ESO con los conceptos básicos claros. Así que yo opto por no dar sesiones puramente teóricas pero si por hacerles al menos un examen por curso. Y por cierto, eres una crack creando este blog … Enhorabuena!!!!

El contenido temático de la educación física incluye temas de conocimiento general para la conservación de una buena salud y como desarrollas nuestras habilidades para mejorar nuestro aspecto físico. Requiere de parte teórica, pero esta no implica usar el pizarrín, desarrollar un tema específico; hay que hacerlo de otra manera, usar estrategias como , por dar una idea, las pupiletras, las maquetas, frases y respuestas, entre otros, si usas multimedia que sea 15 o 20 minutos, luego al patio. descripción por fotos, o a través del arte( motricidad fina).
Gloria así es…tenemos mucho conocimiento por hacer llegar a nuestros alumnos…!! Hay que pensar/crear maneras de hacer llegar el conocimiento sin «hipotecar» la actividad física de nuestros alumnos. 🙂
Completamente de acuerdo Carmen. Ya tienen bastante los alumnos con estar entre 4 paredes 6 horas al día. Si aman nuestra asignatura es por algo y no hay mejor manera de hacer que sigan amándola que no meterlos nunca en el aula. Eso si, hay veces que no hay más remedio, me refiero a lluvia, viento… Pero aún así siempre intento que disfruten y que aprendan algo en referencia a nuestro ámbito. Hola Miguel… Si es una actitud muy repetida consideraría muy en serio el revisar el planteamiento de las tareas que propones… Hay veces que para nosotros lo que planteamos es «la bomba» y luego para ellos «no les llega»… No sé si es el caso pero claro…, es complejo dar mi opinión de algo porque los contextos son muy cambiantes… Una misma tarea en mi instituto es perfecta y en el tuyo no funciona… No sé…
Yo les digo que el que se siente ( no quiere hacer la clase) puede hacerlo cuando quiera pero sin molestar… Claro, les digo que yo por no hacer nada no puedo ponerles nota porque no me gusta inventar cosas… Tendrán un cero… En mi caso a los alumnos que no entreguen un trabajo X les quito el 25% de lo que vale. El que no entrega un trabajo que vale 1 punto no queda a 0 en su calificación sino que es un -0,25 puntos. (así lo tengo contemplado en mi programación).
Pero yo les intento convencer… hay mil maneras de hacerles participar…. Hay veces, (yo diría siempre…), que hay que empezar por ganarte su confianza para poder hacerles trabajar.

Aporto mi granito de arena en secundaria. Doy apuntes y fichas de ejerccios prácticos elaborados por mi, ellos se los descargan. Todas mis UuDd siguen el orden de dichos apuntes y fichas. Y sì, hago examen teôrico. Solo les hago una clase teôrica, 1 semana antes del ecamen teôrico, para resolver dudas. Total solo 2 clases teôricas que me ayudan a saber quien està atento en las clases pràcticas y quien no y consigo 95% del trimestre, pràctico.
Si no hacemos teorìa-pràctica serà màs que EF, recreo, porque todo el mundo le serà sumamente fàcil aprobar que no se esforzarà, «para qué? Si voy a sacar la misma nota que pepito q no hace nada. Estudio mates que es màs importante». Fin de la cita.

Entiendo tu posición Jordi porque yo antes pensaba así…. Actualmente no necesito de los exámenes teóricos para comprobar que mis alumnos han aprendido o no… utilizo otras maneras que bajo mi punto de vista son más atractivas/motivadoras para los alumnos y que ponen en juego muchas más competencias que las que se desarrollan en un examen teórico normal y corriente… Creo que a nuestro colectivo nos da miedo dar notas sobre la práctica porque no tenemos del todo «Atado» un método que sea lo suficientemente «objetivo». Los exámenes teóricos se relacionan con mayor grado de objetividad y hacerlos nos deja más tranquilos… Para mí caso he desarrollado maneras de hacer que me convencen más… Un Tuto Lo Sé seria un ejemplo de ello… Te invito a que conozcas la herramienta en la última entrada del blog.:)

Me gustaría que explicaras lo de los retos. Me parece interesante lo que cuentas ,sobretodo porque tengo 300 alumnos y no tengo claro que los exámenes sirvan de algo y encima el tiempo de corregirlos.

Pues sí Lola… con 300 alumnos quiere decir que tienes una media de 30 alumnos por clase!!! Tienes menos de 4 minutos de atención personal a cada uno de tus alumnos (en realidad como mucho podrías ofrecer 2 minutos a cada alumno a la semana descontando tiempos de aseo, explicaciones básicas…) Eso si organizas bien el tiempo y los recursos para atender a los alumnos porque sino… Yo hay veces que lo más personal que le regalaba a un alumno era el decir su nombre pasando lista…!! (Qué horror!!!) 🙁 En los siguientes post del blog explicaré lo que yo hago en cuanto a la manera de comprobar contenidos y también en cuanto a organización de la clase para acercarme al máximo a los 2 minutos de atención personal a los alumnos… 🙂 Espero que te guste o que al menos lo consideres interesante… 🙂

Obviamente, los contenidos «teóricos» requieren de una lógica adecuación a las edades de los alumnos y sus características, en cuanto a método y formas.
Que se evalúe con una prueba escrita, o con cualquier método que indique el grado de asimilación del conocimiento, es lo de menos. En este sentido la creatividad del profesor y las diversas estrategias, pueden hacer posible que no solamente sirva para evaluar, si no que además permita trabajar para la consecución de otros objetivos: trabajo en equipo, búsqueda y tratamiento de la información,…..

Muy de acuerdo Rafa en todo pero para mí la manera en la que evaluo no es lo de menos… Es tan importante como cualquier otra actividad que propongo, me gusta que la evaluación sea la actividad final en la que el alumno exprese o ponga en acción todo lo que ha aprendido de la forma más real posible… PARA MÍ un examen teórico ya no tiene sentido TAL y COMO YO CONCIBO MIS CLASES. No digo que no sea válido para otro contexto, otro profesor.. Cada uno adaptamos las herramientas a nuestra manera de hacer…
La clase o sesión de aprendizaje teórica en Educación Física,no debe realizarse en el aula,todo debe ser en el campo , pues los estudiantes permanecen casi todo el tiempo sentados en las otras áreas,ademas se debe adecuar conceptos teóricos pertinentes del área de Educación Física de acuerdo a lo que se esta desarrollando en la practica y lo programado según las competencias y capacidades planificadas y siempre durante las pausas ,preguntar o indicar a los estudiantes lo que se esta haciendo y al final de la sesión , los estudiantes deben tener un tiempo donde ellos socializan a través del juego libre o los deportes en grupos.La clase teórica merma el tiempo deseado por los estudiantes .

estoy en total desacuerdo de eliminar los examenes teoricos en educacion fisica, este debe ser una de las tantas herramientas que nos ayudan a identificar si los estudiantes de verdad han asimilado aprendizaje y que no solo actuan como seres sin conciencia corriendo o saltando sin sentido.
hace poco en mi practica le pregunte a estudiantes de 13 años de edad, si sabian que era la resistencia o para que nos ayudaba salir a correr o la importancia de la fuerza , definitivamente hubo un silencio rotundo, no sabian que responder, habian estado años de su vida haciendo clases de educacion fisica y no habian a prendido nada. siel estudiante no es conciente de lo que esta haciendo, no le dara la importancia necesaria para su vida. en este sentido creo que no hay que ser tan extremo y criminalizar los examenes teoricos , hay que utilizarlos como un recurso mas de aprendizaje, y que nos ayude a formar seres integros y concientes de las actividades que realizan.
Estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo en que hay que hacer que nuestros alumnos comprendan qué hacen y para qué lo hacen. La prohibición de realizar exámenes teóricos es sólo a título personal obviamente…, no puedo eliminarlos (confieso que me gustaría… :)) Mi postura es que mi experiencia me dice que el hecho de sentar a los alumnos a explicarles los conceptos teóricos y luego pasarles un examen no hace que los integren más que cuando se integra ese conocimiento dentro de la práctica… Yo soy de «movimiento», mi propuesta es que el aprendizaje en la medida de lo posible se el alumno lo vivencie…, lo extraiga de la práctica, de la puesta en práctica de esos conceptos que queremos hacerle llegar.

Me parece que estas dominizando a la teoría sin ningún tipo de argumentación valida. La teoría y la practica forman una simbiosis, la cual una sin la otra pierde completamente el sentido. Para ser profesor/a de Educación Física hay que estudiar contenidos teóricos y saber aplicarlos de forma practica. Para ser medico, lo mismo, si no sabes la teoría como podes hacer la practica?.
Por otro lado, existen tantas estrategias/métodos de enseñanza como profesores hay en la docencia. El único requisito es tener compromiso con los estudiantes y asumir el rol de profesor con la mayor responsabilidad y seriedad posible, para no faltarle el respeto ni a los estudiantes, ni a los colegas, ni a los padres, ni a vos mismo.
Como podrás darte cuenta, no estoy para nada de acuerdo con lo que planteas, y espero que no estés queriendo vender algún método o comercializar con alguna estrategia de enseñanza, ya que sino todo este debate perdería completamente el sentido. Sin embargo siento curiosidad por saber como son tus clases de Educación Física, ya que por el momento no diste ningún tipo de explicación.

En primer lugar decirte que no pretendo «demonizar» nada… tan sólo pretendo hacer llegar el resultado de mi experiencia en el caso de los exámenes y clases teóricas. Obviamente cada profesor puede hacer lo que quiera o lo que crea mejor para hacer que sus enseñanzas lleguen a sus alumnos.
Como digo en el artículo yo misma he utilizado exámenes y clases teóricas con mis alumnos y no me convence… Creo que la manera en la que mis alumnos aprenden ha cambiado y sólo hago cambios para adaptarme a sus nuevas necesidades…

desde Canada. recuerdo en la facultad de edu fisica de UNIV de CALDAS colombia nos hacian esos eternos examenes de muchas areas afines a la carrera..
Yo también digo NO A LOS EXAMENES TEÓRICOS EN EDUCACIÓN FÍSICA, Carmen.
Esto no implica que no se den contenidos teóricos (creo que algún lector identifica una cosa con la otra) sino que esos contenido se asimilan por medio de la práctica o con alguna tarea en casa, tareas que bien enfocadas les suelen motivar y gustar mucho.
Los que somos de Educación Física no necesitamos demostrar al resto del claustro la importancia de nuestra asignatura por medio de las calificaciones de nuestros exámenes teóricos . Reconozco que, después de tantos años dando clase, todavía me sorprendo con algunos comentarios de compañeros de otras áreas denostando la asignatura de EF en favor de las suyas, pero nuestro mejor argumento son los alumnos, su pasión (en general) por la materia y sus protestas en 2 de Bachillerato porque ya no tienen Educación Física. Ellos SÍ entienden el valor de los contenidos y los asimilan fundamentalmente mediante la acción, el juego, el movimiento…todas esas cosas que los de Educación Física llevamos tantos años haciendo y que ahora se llaman nuevas metodologías o metodologías innovadoras.

Y sin el aspecto teórico …que somos? En realidad la aportación no es total, hay teoría aunque sean 4 min. La falta de la comprensión de la base teórica de los dispositivos didácticos que utilizamos nos vuelve simples técnicos en su aplicación, no sólo es necesaria la teoría para los alumnos (desde una perspectiva útil para co reunir un ser humano capaz de resolver sus necesidades motoras) sino además para el maestro, quien debe saber cómo presentar las actividades para evitarse los conflictos, trabajo en equipo con los grupos y una visión amplia y clara de hacia dónde se lleva a los alumnos y el porque, ahí está la respuesta a la implementación de la teoría en la educación física. Creo en que las personas tenemos una inteligencia motriz que también se tiene que desarrollar a la par que otros tipos de inteligencia sin menospreciar ninguna… (Me gusta el planteamiento de las inteligencias múltiples de GAdner no sé si la conoces…) No sé en tu país pero en España sólo disponemos de 2h a la semana y mi apuesta es integrar la asimilación de conceptos integrada en la práctica para poder aprovechar al máximo el tiempo de compromiso motor.

Profes, me despido dejando un Tip Que Aplico en Lugar de Exámenes Teóricos con Mis Chicos de primaria Se llama «DIBUJO Y EXPLICO MI CLASE DE HOY…2 La Idea es que Finalizada cada Sesión los Chicos le Pongan un Nombre a la Clase, y Plasmen en su Cuaderno Luego de Un Dibujo; Resuman o Cuenten en esa Hoja lo que más les haya Gustado de la Clase.
En bachillerato o Secundaria se cambia el Dibujo por una Fotografía o Imagen que Identifique el tema tratado y Como Prueba de periodo Realicen Un pequeño Vídeo Clip y asi Puedes Subir su Nivel de Complejidad que Os parece?

Tengo alumnos muy, muy inteligentes motrizmente y me causa la misma admiración que encontrar a un niño muy inteligente en matemáticas…, son diferentes tipos de inteligencia… En educación estamos para potenciar todos los tipos de inteligencia pero sin menospreciar ninguno… y por supuesto sin poner un tipo de inteligencia primero y otro después.
Es mi parecer, es mi manera de entender nuestra profesión pero respeto el que tú lo hagas desde otro punto de vista… Sólo el estar convencidos de lo que hacemos nos va a llevar a transmitirlo mejor… 🙂

A la mayoría de clases de secundaria se les hará, por lo menos, una lección del temario antes del examen… pero a nosotros ni eso, la muy maja de nuestra profesora nos deja los apuntes colgados en la plataforma y nos tenemos que empoyar tooooda la unidad en una semana y hablo de 20 diapositivas de apuntes… quien tendría la maldita idea de inventar los exámenes teóricos en EF si es Educación Física no Mental. Por ejemplo, que ***** me importan a mi las posiciones del basquet o las técnicas o el numero de jugadores, si lo importante es coger la pelota, correr y meterla en la canasta, ah y que no me acordava, que la muy lista nos pone los apuntes en ingles cuando en las clases lo chapurrea que habla mejor ingles my abuelo que ella y a mi esos apuntes me huelen a traductor google que no veas… bueno yo ahora tendria que estar estudiando para eso… pero prefiero estar desaogandome aqui… algun dia acabaremos con los examenes teoricos!
